Tantu Technology How is the cleanliness level of dust-free wipes determined?
Lint-free wipes refer to those made using polyester. The cleaning cloths are made from nylon filament yarn, and the cutting, washing, and packaging of the products are all carried out in ultra-clean workshops. 。 The dust-free cloth has a soft surface that resists fiber shedding during friction. It effectively adsorbs liquids and particulate matter without generating dust particles, offering excellent cleaning performance. It is widely used in the semiconductor industry, among other applications. Cleanrooms and production lines for LCDs, circuit boards, precision instruments, optical products, PCB products, laboratories, medical equipment, and the aerospace industry.
There’s a dazzling array of dust-free wipes available on the market, with prices ranging widely—and naturally, their quality varies accordingly. Do you also find yourself wondering how to determine the quality of dust-free wipes? How can you choose a dust-free cloth that meets your requirements?

How are cleanroom wipes classified by cleanliness level?
Cleanliness levels, from highest to lowest, Dust-free wipes can be categorized into Class 10, Class 100, Class 1,000, and Class 10,000 dust-free wipes, among others.
Each class of cleanroom should use cleanroom wipes of the same grade. How is the cleanliness grade of cleanroom wipes determined? Primarily, it depends on the following test data: Moist-state dust generation amount ( LPC, ion content (IC), and non-volatile residue (NVR); among these, the most critical test parameter is the wet dust emission rate (LPC).

What are the main test data for dust-free wipes?
① Wet Dust Emission Rate (LPC): Refers to the number of particles larger than 0.5 micrometers released by the wiping cloth when immersed in the cleaning solution.
② Ion Content (IC) : Refers to the extraction of a wiping cloth with water per unit mass. The residual ion content in the extract.
③ Non-volatile residue (NVR) It refers to non-volatile substances remaining on the fabric surface and within the fabric itself after extraction with different solvents. 。

How do you determine the cleanliness level of a dust-free cloth?
Drawing on our company’s many years of customer service experience and Reference standard IEST-RP-CC004.3 “Evaluating Wiping Materials Used in Cleanrooms and Other Controlled Environments” and FZ/T 64056-2015 “Wiping Cloths for Cleanrooms” The cleanliness levels for dust-free wipes are specified as follows:
( 1) Class 10 dust-free cloth
LPC ≤ 1200/cm 2 ;
IC(C1 - ;SO 4 2- ;NO 3- ) ≤ 1.0 μg/g;
NVR (IPA extraction) ≤ 0.5 mg/g.
(2) Class 100 dust-free cloth
1200 < LPC ≤ 3000 units/cm 2 ;
IC(C1 - ;SO 4 2- ;NO 3- ) ≤ 2.0 μg/g;
NVR (IPA extraction) ≤ 0.8 mg/g.
(3) Class 1,000 dust-free cloth
3000 < LPC ≤ 6000 units/cm 2 ;
IC(C1 - ;SO 4 2- ;NO 3- ) ≤ 3.0 μg/g;
NVR (IPA extraction) ≤ 1.0 mg/g.
